Biography
A 30-year marketing and communications professional in Denver and Eagle County, Colorado, Amy L Cassidy currently works as a contract advisor, facilitator and mentor for the Colorado Tourism Office to help rural communities understand and develop tourism as an economic development strategy. She also provides community outreach and communications services to advance projects such outdoor recreation, housing and education. Amy previously served as the Marketing & Events Director for the town of Eagle, located 30 miles west of the resorts of Vail and Beaver Creek. In addition to soliciting and managing events to drive overnight visitation to Eagle, she was responsible for developing and marketing the town of Eagle as a recreation based tourism destination. Amy consults on a variety of trails, open space and outdoor recreation projects, intended to improve quality of life and encourage economic vitality. An accomplished writer and editor, Amy has also published the official destination guides for the Vail Valley, Copper Mountain, Town of Frisco and Colorado Mountain Express (now Epic Mountain Express). In 2016, Amy was recognized by the Vail Valley Partnership, Eagle County’s valley-wide chamber and business association, as the 2015 Tourism Professional of the Year for her efforts to drive tourism and economic development in Eagle and the Vail Valley. She served on the Vail Valley Partnership's Economic Development Advisory Council and was a founding board member of Vail Valley Trail Connection.
